Hi everyone. Helaina is doing well. She is on her conventional ventilator and working well at it. She is on antibiotics for a slight infection right now. This is normal to have infections while intebated so we are not worried about this. She is up to 10 ml of formula every three hours and is digesting it just fine. They are hoping to get her extibated in a few days. We will keep everyone updated. Thx again for all of the support.

Ambar & Mikes Wedding

I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding on 10-23-09 at Faulkner Winery with my buddy Justin from Hulse Photography. This was an amazing wedding with a beautiful couple, Ambar and Mike. There was a beautiful sunset during the ceremony which made the wedding even more special. Here are just a few of the wonderful images that were caught on this beautiful fall day.

Helaina with her eyes open

Yesterday, 10-25-09, we went and visited Helaina at the NICU. She was moved from the High Frequency Oscilator to the conventional ventilator and is doing well. The best part about the day was that Helaina opened her eyes and was awake and alert for about 25 minutes while we were there. She just was hanging out looking towards us with her eyes. It was the best feeling ever. Here are just a few pictures from yesterday.

helaina at the NICU

We went and visited Helaina yesterday at the NICU. She was doing very well. We got to meet with the doctor and she told us good things about what was going on. As everyone knows she is still on a ventilator. The doctor told us this was normal for a premi of her age, and she told us the xrays of her lungs don't show any problems other than being immature. The doctor also told us she doesn't seem to have any problems with any of her other organs at this time. The doctor told us to plan on taking her home around Christmas time, which was our original due date, but of course she could not tell us for sure when we take her home. One of our favorite nurses Amy was tending to her yesterday. Amy put one of the premi hats on her little head that Heather had brought down. She was just too cute. Thanks again for everything everyone has done for use it helps so much.

Hi all. I just checked on our little angel and she is doing well. She is stable and doing much better tonight than she was yesterday. She seems to be fighting the infection and is still on just a little bit of oxygen. She will hopefully be getting off of the high flow ventilator in five days or so. While we were visiting her today Helaina actually opened her eyes. This was the first time we got to see this since she has been retaining water and swollen from it. It was so nice to see he little blue eyes. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again to everyone.

Helaina's New Bow

Today we went to Children's Hospital and saw Helaina on day 9 of her life. Today she was taken off of her large ventilator and placed on a conventional ventilator. She is doing well at this time. While they were changing over the ventilator I was able to take some pictures of her without the glare of the plastic top to her isolet. Also, the nurse was very sweet and placed a bow on her head using lubricating jelly to make it stick, funny huh. Here are just a few pictures of our sweet angel.

New Baby

Hi everyone. As some of you already know my wife gave birth to our wonderful little girl, Helaina Jo Cornett, on Tuesday September 29th, 2009, at 0523 hours. Helaina was born three months pre-mature and is currently receiving wonderful care by the nurses and doctors at Children's Hospital in San Diego, CA. Helaina was born weighing only 2 pounds, 4 ounces, and 13 inches in length. She is doing wonderful with her treatment and I think she will be home by Christmas. Attached are some of the pictures from her first five days of life. We thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes during this time in our life.
